Surselva is one of the most attractive leisure regions in Switzerland and a true insider tip for lovers of outdoor sporting activities.
In winter, the Disentis Sedrun Andermatt ski region offers 120 kilometers of guaranteed snowy slopes and is a freeride paradise for Disentis visitors from Germany, Sweden and Norway.
In the summer, the slopes attract mountain bike or walking trips. The mountain railways transport downhill enthusiasts to spectacular descents in the valley or to the best climbing spots. If the weather is not so outdoor-friendly, alternatives are provided in the climbing halls in the high school/boarding school and Center da Sport in Disentis.
For those who prefer to stay in the valley, curling or hockey in the winter or tennis and mini-golf in the summer offer further ways to spend one’s leisure time.
The region also has a highlight for water sports enthusiasts: Water lovers can indulge their pleasure halfway to Chur: the Versam canoe school travels with its whitewater canoes from Ilanz on the Rhine, and also has rafting offers for groups.
Of course, our sports instructors also know how to use this huge range of outdoor sports facilities. Offers such as climbing, canoeing, skiing or curling feature regularly on our sports schedule; especially on the weekends. For students, attending these sports special offers will count towards the elective subject SIG (Sports Interest Group).
