When pupils leave Disentis Abbey Grammar School & Boarding School, they automatically become alumni. There has always been a strong connection between the alumni and our school, the boarding school and the monastery. Even years after graduation, we maintain contact with them, be it at the school fiestas, the Alumni Day or the graduation anniversaries. Time and again, our alumni tell us how they were able to benefit from their experiences in their university studies or other training. They were well prepared for the time after graduation and consider the community in which they found support to be priceless and incomparable. Not only knowledge, memories of shared experiences and friendships remain, but also a deep bond.
Our alumni are organized as an association. All former students as well as active and former teachers can become members. They form a valuable network - both for graduates and for the current student body of the Gymnasium & Internat Kloster Disentis. Every two years, we invite alumni from various universities and colleges to present their studies or careers to the pupils. Their presentations show the various paths open to our graduates: from law studies to studies in medicine, economics, mathematics, theater, music, computer science, geography, languages, game design, film, etc.
