The study
before
the study.

Study: It’s how we refer to the lectures and work at college.

Study: It’s how we refer to the time in which the material that was taught at school is worked through independently. The time in which homework is completed or examinations are prepared for.

Study is an integral part of the boarding school’s daily routine: Guided study periods happen from:

  • 6.45 to 7.15 a.m.
  • 12.35 to 1.15 p.m.
  • 5.30 to 6.30 p.m.
  • 7.30 pm to 8.30 p.m.

In the high school, guided study periods in the afternoon are mandatory for  1st to 3rd year students. Parents let us know if they want to take their child out of this.

How and where does study happen?

The Disentis Abbey School and Boarding School has two beautiful, large and quiet study rooms:

The Silentium and the Susurro.

The Silentium study hall is the place for silent individual work. In the Susurro, students can whisper to their classmates at small group tables.

Study is more than just daily routine.

Study teaches students

  • to concentrate 100% on their work and
  • to work independently as they will when they become university students
